September 22, 2005 In addition to A Child is Missing, the Idaho Falls Police Department announced another program that will help keep our community safe.It’s a registered sex offender tracking program which will include a website called mapsexoffender.com.All you have to do is go to the website, type in your address and all the registered sex offenders in your area will pop up.Created by a Utah company called Orbizon, they say people have already put it to good use.Mark Olsen, spokesman for Orbizon, said, “Even in Idaho there was a school district, I’m not sure which one, but they used our website to plot out the different bus stops and decide where would be the safest to pick up the kids.”Orbizon says parents have also used the website to decide which route their children will take to school.
